Wimbledon 2023: Day 8 Order of Play and schedule – When are Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Holger Rune playing?
We are approaching the business end of Wimbledon and a roster of stars are in action on Monday, with Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and Holger Rune among them.
Attention will be drawn to Alcaraz, who has matched his best result at SW19 by reaching the fourth round, but who will not be content with ending his campaign there.
World No. 2 Sabalenka takes on Ekaterina Alexandrova on No. 1 Court, and there is a compelling match-up between Ons Jabeur and Petra Kvitova second on Centre Court.

Elsewhere, Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Elena Rybakina are all also in action as they eye the quarter-finals.
Top men’s match – Carlos Alcaraz v Matteo Berrettini
A stellar match-up on Centre Court sees Alcaraz take on 2021 finalist Matteo Berrettini.
The Italian has surprised even himself by reaching this stage, admitting he “would have signed with my blood” to get this far after a difficult 2023 season which, before Wimbledon, had seen him play just one match since April due to injury struggles.
For Alcaraz, he has the chance to break new ground at the tournament by progressing to his first quarter-final, and continue his march towards what would be a hugely anticipated final against Novak Djokovic.
This meeting with the big-serving Berrettini will test all of the Spaniard’s burgeoning grass credentials.
Top women’s match – Ons Jabeur v Petra Kvitova
It’s the sixth seed against the ninth seed as Tunisian Jabeur – last season’s finalist – takes on two-time Wimbledon winner Kvitova.
Jabeur knocked out Bianca Andreescu in the previous round, the first time she has lost a set in the tournament to date, but she has looked largely consummate on the courts of SW19 as she looks to win her first major.
Kvitova hasn’t gone past the fourth round of a major since the French Open in 2020, but she has looked back to something approaching her best at this year’s Wimbledon, like Jabeur dropping just one set so far.
The winner will face another devilish match in the quarter-finals, with last year’s winner Rybakina or Beatriz Haddad Maia lying in wait.
Brit watch
The pick of those matches on Monday sees Joe Salisbury and Heather Watson go in the mixed doubles on Court 12, while Jamie Murray pairs up with Taylor Townsend against Marcelo Arevalo and Marta Kostyuk.
