Robert Shiver hired PI to track cheating wife during divorce
The husband targeted for assassination by his allegedly cheating Southern belle wife confronted her bartender Bahamian lover — after hiring a private investigator to track her movements amidst their bitter divorce, several sources told The Post.
Suspecting his wife of playing the lush fields near their luxurious Caribbean getaway, former Auburn University football player Robert Shiver, 38, hired a high priced snoop to track Lindsay Shiver’s activities on the island of Abaco in The Bahamas.
With a bitter fight looming over custody of their three kids and millions in real estate spanning from Georgia to the Caribbean, Robert paid the investigator to tail his wife of 13 years at several local haunts near their home in the exclusive Baker’s Bay community.
On one occasion, the PI snapped shots of Lindsay with a local man — who turned out to be the innocent manager for Grabbers Bar and Grill.
Robert, sources said, abruptly confronted the baffled staffer who said he had no idea what the spouse was talking about.
But Robert finally hit the mark after the PI captured Lindsay and her beau, 28-year-old barman Terrance Adrien Bethel, at Grabbers — and sarcastically thanked him for confirming his suspicions.
“Thanks for taking care of my wife,” Robert told Bethel after the pictures — expected to play a pivotal role in their divorce proceeding — were secured.
Sources said the investigator took snaps of the pair in several different locations — including the Nassau, Bahamas, airport.
Matters have since escalated after prosecutors said Lindsay plotted with her bartender beau and his local associate, aspiring rapper Faron Newbold, to murder Robert.
But locals familiar with the situation scoffed at Newbold’s murderous qualifications, saying he comes from a respectable middle class family and would never have carried out the task.
“That’s a joke, man,” said a friend of both Bethel and Newbold. “He’s not that type, believe me. He tried to pretend like he is, but he isn’t.”
Lindsay was arrested last month after Bahamian police stumbled upon her alleged murder-for-hire plot while investigating a theft at the bar where Bethel worked, and examined his phone.
The former local pageant queen and Auburn University cheerleader is currently locked up on the island of Nassau in the notorious Fox Hill prison, the former home of the alleged crypto crook Sam Bankman-Fried. She has yet to post $100,000 bail in the case.
Bethel and Newbold are currently out on bail after each posted $20,000 bond, but both have to wear electronic monitoring tags and check in at Marsh Harbour police station three times a week.
A source previously told The Post Lindsay had essentially “lived a double life — this Georgia housewife with the lovely kids and the Bahamas bad girl.”
“She got caught up in something really bad. It’s sad,” the source said.
The alleged hit on Robert came after the life insurance company executive filed for divorce from his wife on April 5, accusing her of adultery.
The next day, Lindsay came back at her husband with allegations domestic abuse, including hitting her in front of their young sons, who are all under 12.
As the divorce proceedings got ugly, Lindsay allegedly cooked up the murder-for-hire plot and sent a picture of Robert — along with the message “kill him” — to Newbold, according to documents seen by The Daily Mail.
Lindsay confessed to sending the damning texts, but later claimed she was just venting while in the middle of her nasty divorce, a Bahamian police source told The Post.
