Taylor Swift look-alike Ashley Leechin slammed for stunt
She’s causing some “Bad Blood” with fans.
A Taylor Swift look-alike is being slammed as an “Anti-Hero” by die-hard fans for causing an unnecessary ruckus on Saturday as she was out and about pretending to be the pop star.
Ashley Leechin, who is well-known for her Taylor Swift impersonations, appeared in an Instagram video dressed in a red leather cap, white top, jeans and dark shades as part of a staged stunt.
Complete with a cadre of bodyguards, Leechin, 30, can be seen walking through a mall while being swarmed by “Fearless” fans who were seemingly “Enchanted” to meet the Grammy Award-winning songstress.
“Overall, how do you feel about the day so far,” asked YouTube personality Victor Galvan.
Leechin responded that she feels “great” and that the prank had gone “better than expected.”
In an effort to cause more chaos, Leechin and her fellow pranksters decided to visit downtown Disney.
Now dressed in a pink cap and a black top, Leechin can be seen posing with several fans who were shocked to see the “Wildest Dreams” singer.
Eventually, the impersonator revealed that she was not actually Swift but “just Ashley.”
The revelation shocked many of the fans who immediately burst out laughing,
Despite the good-natured intentions of the prank, many Instagram users filled up the comment section’s “Blank Space” with many angry comments.
“This is weird behavior,” slammed one irate Swiftie.
“This is so disgusting,” slammed a second fan. “But this can be proof for Taylor to sue them … especially Ashley she needs to seek help.”
“You guys are really irresponsible for doing this given the recent events and the likelihood of security concerns that could arise,” slammed a third fan. “Also, this is disgusting!”
Several fans also suggested that Leechin and her friends could be in for some “Karma” should the real Swift decide to sue her.
The Post reached out to Swift and Leechin for comment.
Some fans have told the die-hard Swifties that they “need to calm down.”
“I love that you triggered so many swift fans,” laughed one commenter.
“She doesn’t even look close to Taylor Swift lmao,” said a second person.
“Lol the comments take the prank too seriously,” snarked a third fan.
Leechin herself also commented saying that she had an “amazing time with each and every one of you” and that it shows “how far some fans will go.”
While the LA prank was going down, the real Taylor Swift was being mobbed by fans who spotted the Pennsylvania native at the Jersey Shore while attending the wedding of her friend, Jack Antonoff.
This is not the first time Leechin had to shake off haters.
Earlier this year, several fans called the impersonator a “pathological liar” after Leechin denied trying to look like the pop star.
“If I gravitated toward Marilyn Monroe or Taylor, and utilized that for your everyday look, that’s not looking like someone,” she said. “You’re drawing inspiration from a celebrity. Which we all do.”
Leechin then attempted to stop people from cyberbullying by setting up an anti-defamation petition.
“This petition shares my side & is to help stop cyberbullying, harassment & false defamation towards myself, Ashley Leechin, as well as others,” reads the petition on Change.org. “I have 2 children, a husband, a cat family & I am a licensed Registered Nurse who makes content on social media as well as pursuing an acting career. I do not aspire to write music, sing or play a musical instrument.”
