Demi Lovato leaves manager Scooter Braun after Bieber rumors
Sorry, not sorry.
Demi Lovato is looking for new management after splitting from Scooter Braun last month.
A source close to the “Stone Cold” singer told The Post on Monday that while she is thankful for her time with Braun’s SB Projects firm, the former Disney star is looking to go in a new direction.
Lovato has not yet found new management, but conversations are taking place, according to the insider, who also added that her departure happened well before any rumor of Justin Bieber leaving Braun surfaced.
Braun’s current roster includes Bieber, Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Dan + Shay, to name a few.
Representatives for Lovato, 31, declined to comment when contacted by The Post.
The Post also reached out to Braun, 42, for comment.
However, Braun put on a united front as recently as Sunday in an Instagram story, wishing Lovato a happy birthday and calling her “one of the kindest souls out there.”
Lovato, who openly discussed suffering from an eating disorder for many years, was previously managed by Phil McIntyre of Philymack, who she later accused of controlling what she ate and hiding sugar from her.
“For many years, I didn’t even have a birthday cake,” Lovato told Ellen DeGeneres in 2020. “I had a watermelon cake, where you cut your watermelon into the shape of a cake and you put fat-free whipped cream on top and that was your cake.
“So, for years I did this and it kind of became this ongoing joke, but I just really wanted a birthday cake.”
Lovato credited Braun for breaking that cycle on her 27th birthday.
“I have a new team, and Scooter Braun, my manager, gave me the best birthday cake,” she told DeGeneres.
“I spent it with Ariana Grande, who is one of my good friends, and we just had the best birthday, and I just remember crying because I was finally eating cake with a manager that didn’t need anything from me and that loved me for who I am and supported my journey.”
“I think at some point, it becomes dangerous to try to control someone’s food when they’re in recovery from an eating disorder,” Lovato added.
Lovato’s new album “Revamped,” which features re-recorded rock version of her hit pop songs, is out Sept. 15.
