Chelsea braced for £45m Tottenham bid for Conor Gallagher after Cole Palmer transfer – Paper Round

Chelsea may sell Gallagher

Chelsea may sell Conor Gallagher as they prepare to welcome Cole Palmer to Stamford Bridge.

The Telegraph reports on a number of potential deadline-day deals for Chelsea.

The paper claims: “Cole Palmer has completed his medical and will be announced as a Chelsea player as the club brace themselves for a late bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Conor Gallagher.

“While Palmer is expected to represent Chelsea’s last piece of incoming first-team business before Friday night’s transfer deadline, the club are working on a number of exits.

“Most of those constitute loans for young players, but Chelsea will go into the final day of the window with doubts still hanging over the futures of Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is wanted by both Nottingham Forest and Fulham, Trevoh Chalobah, for whom Bayern Munich made an approach, and Gallagher.

“Tottenham have held an interest in Gallagher for most of the summer, but have held off making a bid until the last minute. The expectation at Stamford Bridge is that an offer will arrive after Palmer wrapped up his move from Manchester City in a deal worth £45 million.”

United close in on Reguilon deal

Manchester United are expected to sign Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham as cover fro the injured Luke Shaw.

“Manchester United are working to complete a deal to sign left-back Sergio Reguilon on a short term loan from Tottenham Hotspur,” reports the Daily Mail.

“The 26-year-old has been granted permission to travel and undergo a medical with the Old Trafford club after talks for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella stalled.

“Reguilon had been among United’s options following Luke Shaw’s injury and they have now reverted to that deal.

“Chelsea had initially demanded a £7m loan fee for Cucurella and the fact he played in the Carabao Cup last night also complicated plans.

“United had wanted the option of an exit clause in January once Shaw is expected to be fit, however, Cucurella would not have been eligible to leave and appear for a third club this season.”

Liverpool set for Gravenberch deal

Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch looks set to leave the Bundesliga after a single season to move to Liverpool.

The Mirror states: “Ryan Gravenberch is due to fly into Merseyside this Thursday evening after Liverpool finally made a breakthrough in their summer-long attempt to sign the Holland star.

“The Reds agreed a fee thought to be in the region of £35m, including additional bonus-related payments, for the Bayern Munich midfielder, after a protracted transfer saga where they had three separate approaches for the 21-year-old rejected over the course of the summer window.

“If all goes to plan, Gravenberch is due to undergo a medical at a Liverpool medical facility on Friday, before completing a deal, where he is expected to sign a five-year contract.”
