Lily Gladstone slams ‘deplorable’ Kevin Costner show ‘Yellowstone’

Native American actress Lily Gladstone slammed the Kevin Costner-led series “Yellowstone” last week, calling the show “deplorable” and “delusional.”

Gladstone, who currently stars in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” said that despite the shortcomings of the Western show, she does not fault those Native American actors who were cast in Taylor Sheridan’s show.

“No offense to the Native talent in that,” Gladstone, 37, told Vulture. “I auditioned several times. That’s what we had.”

Gladstone refused to delve deeper into her reasoning for the comments.

The Post reached out to Gladstone for comment.

Despite losing the “Yellowstone” role, the “Reservoir Dogs” actress claimed that Scorsese’s film was better suited to the story she wanted to tell.

“It’s not a white-savior story,” said Gladstone to the media outlet. “It’s the Osage saying, ‘Do something. Here’s money. Come help us.’”

The film — which was adapted from the book of the same name — is set in Oklahoma during the 1920s, and tells the story of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation and how several members of the tribe were brutally murdered by those wishing to take over the land and sell it for profit and led to the formation of the FBI.

Scorsese’s nearly three-and-a-half-hour film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro in addition to Gladstone and received a nine-minute standing ovation when it debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

“It’s taken its time to come around, but Apple did so great by us, shooting out there … there was lots of grass — I’m a New Yorker,” said the “Goodfellas” director in a post-film speech. “We also lived in that world with the Osage, we really did, and we really miss it.”

Former Osage tribal leader Jim Gray also complimented the film calling it “genuine and honest.”

“The dignity and care for the Osage perspective was genuine and honest throughout the process and the Osage responded with the kind of passion and enthusiasm that met this historic moment,” said Gray on X (formerly Twitter).

“For those of us who were watching from the sidelines while our best and brightest among us auditioned, sewed, catered, painted, acted and advised the filmmakers, it’s going to be hard not to feel our presence in helping to tell.”

While the brand-new film is expected to receive several nominations at the Oscars this year, it was announced in June that “Yellowstone” would be hanging its hat up for good after airing the second half of its fifth season.

The announcement comes as rumors of a feud between Costner, 68, and show creator Taylor Sheridan, 63, gallop over social media.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” is set to have a limited release on Oct. 6, 2023, before being released nationwide on Oct. 20.
