Abby Lee Miller backtracks on high school athlete attraction after backlash
Abby Lee Miller is “setting the record straight” after admitting last week to being attracted to high school football players on Sofia Franklyn’s “Sofia with an F” podcast.
“I do like those hot, athletic, muscular types of guys — the jocks,” the former “Dance Moms” star, 57, said in a video posted to Instagram on Monday after her comments sparked backlash. “I always have and I always will.”
“They must be able to go out to a club, gamble in Vegas, rent an ADA-compliant, handicapped accessible van,” continued Miller, who has used a wheelchair since June 2018.
“And they should also have a business bank account, success, and passion in their own right.”
The convicted felon initially uttered her cringe-worthy remarks at the end of Franklyn’s Sept. 7 podcast episode while discussing Tom Cruise.
Noting the “Mission: Impossible” actor’s well-known habit of sending cakes to friends as an annual gift, Miller asked Franklyn, 31, “Have you seen ‘All the Right Moves?’”
Franklyn claimed she had not seen the popular 1983 sports flick, starring Cruise as a teenage athlete, to which Miller replied, “Oh, that’s my downfall. I like the high school football players. I still like them.”
Franklyn quickly interjected that she was attracted to adult “coaches,” but Miller doubled down, saying: “Not one that used to be in high school, but one that is.”
The Post has contacted Miller and Franklyn for comment.
Miller further reasoned Monday, “Now, if you saw the movie ‘All the Right Moves’ starring Tom Cruise playing a high school football star, then you will know exactly what I’m talking about. And if you haven’t, go watch it, and then you’ll know.”
She ended the Instagram video by shooting her shot with a maybe-single former NFL player who is definitely of age.
“This November is my high school class reunion. Shout out, Penn Hills,” Miller cheered.
“And I hope that the heartthrob is there, but if he’s not, I heard Tom Brady’s available.”
