La Vuelta a Espana: Jonas Vingegaard storms to Stage 16 victory, takes back more time on Sepp Kuss and Primoz Roglic
Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) stormed to victory on Stage 16 of La Vuelta a Espana, taking back more time on team-mates Sepp Kuss and Primoz Roglic in the process.
Kuss remains in the red jersey but only by 29 seconds after another fascinating day of Jumbo-Visma tactics.
The day began in earnest when the breakaway was caught with about 10km to go.
Matters escalated further when the bunch hit the final climb, a fierce 4.8km ramp up to the finish in Bejes.

Vingegaard barely celebrated on the line in a likely nod to team-mate Nathan Van Hooydonck, who was involved in a traffic accident in Belgium on Tuesday.
Wednesday sees the riders hit the Alto de L’Angliru, one of the most brutal climbs in cycling, as part of a 124.5km parcours which begins in Ribadesella.
