Tom Sandoval revealed as Diver on ‘The Masked Singer’
Spoiler alert!
Tom Sandoval was revealed Wednesday night as the Diver on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.”
The 40-year-old “Vanderpump Rules” star sang “I Ain’t Worried” by One Republic during the show’s NFL-themed show, which featured tunes from Super Bowl pre-show or Halftime Show performers.
Fans suspected that Sandoval was the celebrity under the mask, especially after his clues about being “hated.”
“As a kid, I always wanted to be famous. I modeled, I acted, and of course, sang,” the reality star, who is in the band Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, revealed in his pre-performance video package on Wednesday.
“I was always wanting to become a household name, I just didn’t know it would be everyone hating me.”
Sandoval was at the center of much media scrutiny over the last few months after he cheated on his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, with their fellow “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Raquel Leviss.
The hashtag “Scandoval” has over 1.2 billion views on TikTok, making Sandoval one of the most hated villains in reality TV history.
After Sandoval’s “Masked Singer” performance Wednesday, he gave additional clues about pumping up the party at clubs, which prompted the show’s judges to Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke to guess he could be Pete Davidson or “Jersey Shore’s” Pauly D.
Judge Ken Jeong, however, correctly guessed Sandoval’s identity.
“Being able to come out here and perform, you know, behind the mask, not being judged, only being judged on my performance — it was really nice,” Sandoval said upon his unmasking.
“I felt protected under the mask,” he added when McCarthy asked if it was “difficult” for him to decide to come on the show.
“I mean, this costume is incredible. There’s so many talented people here. I’m just honored to be part of it,” Sandoval stated.
This is Sandoval’s third most recent Fox reality show appearance.
He appeared on “Stars on Mars” this summer, and is currently competing on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
Sandoval launched his podcast “Everybody Loves Tom” last week and revealed that he was “very, very close” to suicide in the midst of Scandoval.
