Matt LeBlanc spotted for first time since Matthew Perry’s death
Matt LeBlanc has been photographed for the first time since his “Friends” co-star Matthew Perry died Saturday at his home in Los Angeles.
The 56-year-old actor was spotted driving at 3:30 p.m. PT Thursday in his black Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, wearing black sunglasses and a black baseball cap.
LeBlanc played Joey Tribbiani, who was roommates and best friends with Perry’s Chandler Bing, for 10 seasons on the hit NBC series, from 1994 to 2004.
LeBlanc and his other four “Friends” co-stars — Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer — issued a joint statement to People nearly 48 hours after his death.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement read. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” they continued. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
LeBlanc is not the first “Friends” star to be spotted since Perry’s tragic death.
On Tuesday. Cox, 59, appeared downcast with her longtime boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, leaving Nobu Malibu in California.
That same day on the East Coast, Schwimmer, 56, was photographed leaving his New York City residence. He wore a baseball cap and a medical mask that concealed most of his face.
Perry was found dead at age 54 in his hot tub at his California home on Oct. 28. He was unresponsive and already deceased before first responders arrived at the scene.
In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department told The Post: “We responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male 4:10 p.m. this afternoon. He was in his 50s.”
The 911 caller’s identity has not been revealed by authorities, though TMZ reported it was Perry’s assistant, who made the call after returning from an errand.
“We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing,” “Friends” co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane and director Kevin Bright said in a joint statement following Perry’s shocking death.

We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment – not just to his work, but in life as well. He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart.”
They concluded: “This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.”
