Abigail Breslin, Aaron Eckhart, and the ‘Classified’ producer lawsuit

Producers of Abigail Breslin’s upcoming film, “Classified” have sued the former child star for breach of contract.

The lawsuit claims that ongoing frictions between the “Little Miss Sunshine” alum, 27, and co-star Aaron Eckhart, 55, stalled production and cost the backers $80,000.

According to court docs obtained by Entertainment Tonight, the “Scream Queens” star accused the “In The Company of Men” actor of showing “aggressive, demeaning and unprofessional” behavior towards her on set.

The suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Nov. 2.

Breslin had brought her concerns to the Screen Actors Guild in a letter that “set forth her fears and blasted Mr. Eckhart’s behavior.” 

Producers alleged that “the entire production almost ground to a halt when Breslin advised the production of Eckhart’s” supposed bad behavior, “which she insisted placed her at various times in peril.”

“In order for the production to continue … Breslin refused to be alone in several scenes with Eckhart, and costly accommodations had to be made,” the docs also stated.

There was one producer, labeled as “Mr. Georgiev” in the suit, had examined the issue and found “no evidence in support of Breslin’s wild, hysterical and imaginary allegations against Eckhart.”

There were also “delivery issues to distribution partners as there are few scenes where Breslin and Eckhart are seen together.”

The documents then claimed that Breslin didn’t sign her long-form contract and she “demanded the payment of $35,000 as a condition” of her John Hancock.

Because she refused to write down her signature, it “completely imperiled the financial wellbeing of the production, including concluding distribution agreements and delivering under the terms of existing distribution agreements.”

Without her signature, producers won’t be able to distribute the finished film. the production will also be unable to receive a hoped-for tax credit in Malta, where “Classified” was shot.

The forthcoming spy thriller also stars Tim Roth and followed a CIA hitman who uses the classified section of newspapers to find his killing assignments while reuniting with his young adult daughter.

Breslin and the “Dark Knight” actor have previously worked together in the past, appearing in the 2007 rom-com “No Reservations” with Catherine Zeta-Jones.
