Andy Cohen begs CNN to reverse alcohol ban for NYE’s broadcast

The Dr. Frankenstein of Bravo knows what he needs to power up.

TV personality Andy Cohen has reportedly begged CNN to allow him and Anderson Cooper to drink while hosting the network’s ball drop on Dec. 31.

“Hopefully, I will not be sneaking it,” Cohen, 55, told E! News on Monday during Bravocon. “I haven’t heard anything yet, but come on, they need to let us drink.”

“It’s New Year’s Eve,” the “Watch What Happens Live!” host pleaded. “That didn’t go well last year in terms of viewer happiness about us drinking. People really cared and I hope CNN gives the people what they want.”

“Give the daddies some juice,” Cohen said while also advocating for Cooper, 56.

The Post reached out to CNN for comment.

In November 2022, CNN’s new CEO, Chris Licht, told staffers that on-camera drinking was prohibited as it damaged CNN’s credibility in the eyes of viewers — even though the ban seemingly did not apply to Cohen and Cooper.

Cohen remind defiant, revealing that he fully planned on sneaking alcohol into the festivities if it he had to.

“I want you to know that Anderson and I are going to party harder than we have ever partied before on New Year’s Eve,” Cohen said on “WWHL” days after the news broke.

However, during the supposedly-sober broadcast, both Cohen and Cooper were spotted taking mystery shots.

“We will take the shot, and then we will guess what it was,” Cohen explained.

Honestly, this is no different to me because alcohol, to me, all tastes disgusting,” Cooper responded.

In 2021, a noticeably drunk Cohen made headlines after throwing shade at Ryan Seacrest, who hosts ABC’s iconic “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

Following a performance by Journey, a belligerent Cohen called the band “Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers that are performing behind us.”

“I mean, with all due [respect], if you’ve been watching ABC tonight, you’ve seen nothing,” he added. “I’m sorry.”

The reality show host later admitted on Instagram that he may have drank too much.

“I was a hair over-served last night, but man did I have fun! I hope you did too,” Cohen wrote.

Later that month Cohen issued a full apology to Seacrest, 48, saying the “American Idol” judge was “a great guy.”

“The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast and I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy, Cohen lamented while appearing on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.”

During the same broadcast, Cohen had slammed former NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio who was present at the gathering for the transition of power to the current mayor Eric Adams.

“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been. So, sayonara sucker,” Cohen slurred.
