King Charles ‘relieved’ over Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s absence from his 75th birthday: expert

King Charles is “relieved” that his son Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are not in London to ring in his 75th birthday, a royal expert has claimed.

Buckingham Palace expert and royal commentator Neal Sean says the royal family seems unfazed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s absence on the King’s special day.

“Let’s be very clear, most senior members of the British monarchy are more than relieved by the news that the two former royals known as Harry and Meghan are simply not going to be returning for the birthday celebrations of his Majesty, The King,” Sean told Fox News.

He continued, “The simple fact is, this news was a problem, but more importantly, who needs victims at a family celebration?

“This is the dilemma that faces most of the senior members of the family… while His Majesty, the King, would very much like to reconcile with his son, this is a bigger issue.”

The Sussexes reportedly didn’t make it on to the guest list for the King’s 75th birthday gathering at Clarence House on November 14.

On Monday, His Majesty kicked off his birthday festivities by joining other 75-year-olds in a tea dance organized by The Prince’s Trust at Highgrove House, one of the monarch’s official royal residences.

The Sussexes were notably absent from the royal celebration, which Sean claims is very telling of the dynamics between the two camps.

“Five years ago, King Charles could never have anticipated exactly how this historic birthday would’ve panned out,” the royal expert said.

“However, reaching such a birthday has made him realize, according to close sources, just how difficult life as a reigning monarch can be.”

Sean said that Charles “hoped his troublesome youngest son Prince Harry may have relented,” and he would return home for “such a landmark birthday.”

The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.

It comes after royal expert and commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claimed that Harry simply “doesn’t care” about not being invited to his dad’s birthday bash.

“I really don’t think Harry cares about not being invited to his father’s 75th. The rift runs deep,” Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express.

“The Sussexes reportedly still want an apology from the royal family,” he continued. “What the future holds is uncertain. It is not a pleasant prospect for King Charles to deal with.”

Harry and Meghan, for their part, have said that there’s been “no contact” from the royals about the fête.

“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to his majesty’s upcoming birthday,” their rep told The Post. “It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”

The King’s close family and friends are set to attend – including Prince William, 41, Kate Middleton, 41, and Queen Camilla, 76 – but the Sussexes are sure to be no-shows.

Fitzwilliams said it would “take years” for Harry and the royals to reconcile, hinting that the Firm no longer trusts the Sussexes and their intentions.
