Angelina Jolie doesn’t have social life in ‘shallow’ Hollywood

Angelina Jolie revealed that she doesn’t have much of a social life anymore — and that her six kids are really her only friends.

“They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends,” Jolie, 48, shared with WSJ Magazine in a cover story, which published Tuesday. “We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”

She added: “We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from.”

“I don’t really have … a social life,” Jolie went on. “I realized my closest friends are refugees. Maybe four out of six of the women that I am close to are from war and conflict.”

Jolie, who retains sole custody of Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, also stated her desire to leave Los Angeles in the wake of her separation from Brad Pitt.

“It’s part of what happened after my divorce,” Jolie explained, mentioning her desire to return to her home in Cambodia more often. “I lost the ability to live and travel as freely.”

She added: “I will move when I can.”

According to the “Maleficent” actress, she has always found “of all the places in the world,” Hollywood to be “not a healthy place” and that she “grew up in quite a shallow place. So you seek authenticity.”

Jolie’s parents are actor Jon Voight and the late actress Marcheline Bertrand.

“Because I grew up around Hollywood, I was never very impressed with it,” she told the outlet.

“I never bought into it as significant or important.”

Additionally, Jolie said that, given the chance to do everything over, she wouldn’t have pursued acting.

“I wouldn’t be an actress today,” the “Laura Croft: Tomb Raider” star stated, although claimed she would consider doing live theater.

“When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much,” Jolie reasoned.

According to the Oscar-winning actress, “there’s a reason people who have been through hardship are also much more honest and much more connected, and I am more relaxed with them.”

The Oscar-winning actress stated that she would much rather live among people who have struggled every day for living due to the fact that “they’ve confronted so much in life that it brings forward not just strength, but humanity.”

Jolie’s desire to flee Tinseltown comes as the star continues to be involved in several ongoing legal battles with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The pair, who were married in 2014, filed for divorce in 2016 after Jolie alleged that Pitt, 59, abused both her and two of their children while aboard a private jet.

Allegations made by Jolie claim that the “Meet Joe Black” actor was “verbally abusive and physical with his children” while “wasted.”

Pitt has since denied the allegations.

The FBI investigated the allegation but ultimately decided not to pursue any charges.

Since then, the “Fight Club” actor has not been photographed with his kids in nearly seven years.
