Manchester United eye Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee ahead of January transfer window – Paper Round
Manchester United eye Bologna striker Zirkzee
Former Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee is a target for Manchester United, according to the Mirror.
The German side have a buyback clause for the player but United are keen on bringing in the youngster.
“United have now been linked with Bologna hotshot Joshua Zirkzee, who like ex-Atalanta prospect Hojlund has made his name in Serie A. Zirkzee, 22, spent five years with German champions Bayern Munich and scored an impressive four goals in 12 first-team games.
“Stuttgart talisman Serhou Guirassy was recently tipped for a January move to the red side of Manchester, but the aforementioned report claims that United won’t be pursuing a deal.
“Instead, Zirkzee has emerged as an alternative target and is valued at round €30million (£26m). Bayern, though, implemented a buyback clause worth €22m (£19m) when they sold the Netherlands youth international to Bologna, meaning that United could encounter problems should they go for him.”
Tottenham keen on Bournemouth forward Solanke
Tottenham are scouting Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke, according to The Sun.
However the north London side will face competition from their rivals Arsenal.
“The Bournemouth hitman, who scored a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, has taken the Premier League by storm this year.
“And Sun Online can reveal that Tottenham are ‘closely watching’ the striker’s progress.
“A source said: ‘Spurs want to sign a striker in the summer. The club hasn’t replaced Harry Kane so recruiting a new forward is a big priority and Solanke is someone they are closely monitoring.
“‘They’ve sent scouts to watch him already several times this season, and they will continue to track him into the New Year.
“Our story comes amid reports Arsenal are also looking at the Bournemouth hitman.”
PSG set to sign Moscardo
Gabriel Moscardo appears to be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain, beating a host of European sides to the teenager.
The 18-year-old had been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, and others, but he now looks set to turn up in France.
“Prior reports suggested that Chelsea were leading the race to sign the 18-year-old from Corinthians, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Spanish side Barcelona also interested.
“French giants PSG though have swooped in and look to have secured the services of the youngster.”
United and Chelsea linked with Willian
Estevao Willian has been linked with a move to Premier League sides Manchester United and Chelsea, though they may have to pay £52 million for the 16-year-old midfielder.
The Express suggests that both sides could be willing to buy, with Manchester United likely having to balance the books first.
“Despite his tender years, the attack-minded midfielder has broken into the Palmeiras first team and already has five caps and three goals for Brazil’s under-17 side. That has not gone unnoticed with clubs queuing up to snap up the teenager. As well as Chelsea and United, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also eyeing the youngster up.
“United need to sell before they can buy due to FFP rules, meaning they’ll be somewhat restricted in January. A right-sided centre-back is high on their agenda, as is a low-cost forward option.
“Chelsea, meanwhile, have not fared much better and are down in 10th, having amassed just 22 points. Mauricio Pochettino has complained about the imbalance of his squad all season and made a public plea to Todd Boehly earlier this month for more signings in January following their loss to Everton.”
