Baby’s first Happy Meal captured in adorable photoshoot: ‘She just went in’
This baby is lovin’ her very first McDonald’s Happy Meal.
In honor of Mila Maclay’s first birthday, her parents, Elizabeth and Matthew, bought a Happy Meal for the tiny tot to chew on as a photographer snapped away some adorable pictures.
One pic featured the little one, dressed in a white lace dress, munching on a mini carton of fries, some McNuggets and a little cheeseburger.
Elizabeth, 32, and Matthew, 40, also got in on the fun — and food, of course — according to South West News Service, who spoke to the proud parents about the momentous occasion.
The Boston native also shared a TikTok with some of the photos and the clip has garnered almost half a million views.
“Mila loved McDonald’s,” Elizabeth told the outlet. “She’s never had fast food or nuggets before so I didn’t how it was going to go, but she did not hesitate.”
“She just went in. She had a fry in one hand, a nugget in the other and she loved it,” she went on. “I hope she’ll be as much as a fan as me in the future. I wanted to pass the joy on.”
Elizabeth and Matthew, who admit they’re big fast-foodies, wanted to create a “unique” first birthday for Mila.
She explained, “I have always loved McDonald’s and thought it would be really cute, instead of a cake smash, to do a little Happy Meal.”
“Cakes are kind of boring and she’s going to have them for the rest of her life. I figured why not do a Happy Meal? It was her first one,” she added.
The stay-at-home mom also noted how her photographer was very keen on the idea of shooting a one-year-old eating Mickey D’s instead of smushing a cake. Once the photoshoot was over, Mila’s parents took away her nuggets and the toddler began “screaming.”
“Mila absolutely loved it,” Elizabeth gushed. “Every kid remembers having a Happy Meal. I remember when I was little, after a doctor’s appointment or if we’d had injections, my mom would always take me to McDonald’s.”
TikTok users loved the cute idea and gave their two cents about the toddler’s photos. “Love this idea! Little man turns one on Saturday. Thinking I might do this,” one parent wrote in the comments section.
“I love this! I’m a photographer and babies usually cry at cake smashes this would make them happier for sure,” a shutterbug added.
Joked another, “I love it! Life is short, let the baby have a dang chicken nugget.”
