Linn Svahn continues impressive return to form with third Tour de Ski win – ‘It was a crazy race’
Linn Svahn stormed to her third win of the Tour de Ski as she continued to underline her incredible return to form.
The 24-year-old went almost three years without a win at World Cup level due to a serious shoulder injury but has now claimed three victories in a week.
Her latest success came in the 15km mass start and she and Sweden team-mate Frida Karlsson worked together before crossing the line first and second, with Germany’s Katharina Hennig third.
“It was a crazy race again,” Svahn said. “I felt strong the whole way but actually I think Frida was the strongest today, she did all the work.”
USA’s Jessie Diggins leads the Tour de Ski overall and finished eighth here to take a 43-second advantage over Junna Sundling into Sunday’s final stage.
Erik Valnes won the men’s mass start, finishing just 0.9 seconds ahead of Sweden’s William Poromaa. Switzerland’s Cyril Faehndrich finished third.
Valnes’ Norway team-mate Harald Oestberg Amundsen holds the lead ahead of Sunday’s Tour de Ski finale, 1:39 ahead of Henrik Donnestad.
