Marjorie Taylor Greene files criminal misconduct complaint against Fani Willis

Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed a criminal misconduct complaint against Fani Willis over allegations she had an “improper” relationship with a special prosecutor she hired to lead the election interference case against Donald Trump in Georgia.

In the complaint filed Wednesday, the Georgia Congresswoman requested an inquiry into the Fulton County District Attorney regarding her alleged “secret boyfriend” Nathan Wade, the prosecutor representing her office in the former president’s case.

“I just sent a criminal referral requesting an immediate investigation into Fani Willis and her alleged secret boyfriend, Nathan Wade, to Gov. Brian Kemp and AG Chris Carr,” Greene, a staunch supporter of Trump, wrote on X.

“Georgians are sick and tired of Fani using her office to go after Joe Biden’s top political opponent rather than going after real crime in Georgia.”

In her letter to Gov. Kemp and Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr, Greene urged an investigation into the allegations that Willis “illegally hired her secret boyfriend” to work on an “unprecedented, complex, and partisan” investigation into Trump and others.

Greene repeated claims that Willis may have financially benefited by hiring her alleged romantic partner as special prosecutor amid accusations that the two have traveled together to destinations such as the Napa Valley and the Caribbean.

“This is part of Fani Willis’ unlawful partisan pattern, through her words and deeds, to illegally politicize and weaponize her public office to wage lawfare against President Trump for the purpose of interfering in the 2024 presidential election,” Greene wrote.

Michael Roman, who is one of Trump’s 18 co-defendants in Willis’ RICO probe, originally made the allegations in legal filings seeking dismissal of the charges earlier this week.

Roman is facing seven charges related to the alleged interference in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election, including a violation of the Georgia RICO Act, conspiracy to impersonate a public officer, conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree, and conspiracy to commit false statements and writing.

The document from Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, accused Willis of having an “improper, clandestine personal relationship” with Wade, which included tropical vacations together while working on the case.

“Willis and Wade have engaged in a personal relationship both before and after Willis appointed Wade as the special prosecutor in the instant case,” it claims.

“Willis and Wade were romantically involved prior to Willis awarding a contract for legal services with Wade. It is not entirely clear when the relationship began, but it began while Wade was married.”

Meanwhile, Willis has been subpoenaed to testify in Wade’s divorce proceedings with his wife Joycelyn.

In a court filing obtained by The Post, a process server said he served a subpoena to Willis at her office in Atlanta on Monday morning.

Wade, who has been married for 26 years and shares two adult children with Joycelyn, filed for divorce in Cobb County, outside Atlanta, in November 2021, according to court records.
