TLC’s Jazz Jennings shows off 70-pound weight loss: photo
She’s really jazzed about her weight-loss journey.
TLC star Jazz Jennings revealed that she has lost 70 pounds since beginning her fitness program in 2021.
On Saturday, the “I Am Jazz” alum posted a photo of herself on social media wearing a black-and-white strapless halter top.
“70 pounds down,” Jennings, 23, wrote via Instagram. “Feeling happier and healthier than I’ve been in years.”
“I still have a ways to go, but I’m so proud to finally be taking the necessary steps toward bettering my mind, body, and spirit,” she added.
Several fans were quick to congratulate Jennings on her progress.
“You look amazing,” one fan gushed. “So happy to see you happy and doing well!”
“You are beautiful inside and out no matter what size but I do know how good this feels and how happy you are,” another fan wrote.
“So incredibly proud of you,” a third person wrote. “I know how hard it is to be confident and committed to weight loss. You are an inspiration to so many for many reasons. You go girl.”
The reality star has yet to share her weight-loss secret, but she did post a video of herself running with her father earlier this month.
“‘There she is….the 2024 JAZZZZ’ – @gregory_scott_4,” wrote Jennings. “My dad is the BEST. So supportive and empathetic. Thanks for always being there for me. Now I just have to be consistent in order to reach my health goals.”
Jennings, who underwent gender confirmation surgery in 2019, began losing weight after she revealed in June 2021 that she was suffering from an eating disorder that caused her to gain 100 pounds.
“As many of you have noticed, over the past few years, I have gained a substantial amount of weight,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “I suffer from binge-eating disorder, a disease in which I’m not only addicted to food, but I eat it in large quantities.”
“My binging, along with an increased appetite I experience from some of the meds I’m on, has caused me to gain almost 100 pounds in a little less than 2 years,” she continued. “I’m posting this photo because it’s time for me to address my weight gain and hold myself accountable.”
The transgender activist added that she was “ready to change my ways” but needed to hold herself “accountable.”
“I have a fabulous team supporting me, both professionals and family/friends, but at the end of the day, I have to be the one committed toward bettering myself,” she wrote. “I know I have the power in me to lose the weight, and I intend on sharing my progress with all of you. Love you all, and thanks for understanding the battle I’m fighting to win.”
The star’s weight condition was also documented on “I Am Jazz,” which followed Jennings through high school as she dealt with her weight and life’s various obstacles.
