Sofía Vergara slammed by Griselda Blanco’s real son for ‘disrespectful’ interpretation: ‘Basic respect is warranted’

Sofía Vergara has been slammed for her portrayal of Griselda Blanco by the late Colombian drug lord’s son.

The Colombian actress, 51, stars as the drug queenpin in the Netflix series “Griselda,” and is nearly unrecognizable in the role.

But according to Blanco’s son, Michael Corleone Blanco, the “Modern Family” alum’s interpretation of his late mother is nothing short of “disrespectful.”

“Sofía Vergara did not consult with any members of the Blanco family as a sign of respect or elicit family details in portraying my mother,” Blanco, 45, told Fox News.

“When I learned of the ‘Griselda’ project, my team reached out to Sofia’s camp and offered my consultation services.”

He claimed that Vergara, who serves as Executive Producer on the show, and her team told him that there was “no room on the project” to consult with him or any other members of his family.

“Sofia’s camp and the Netflix creators were disrespectful and ultimately produced the ‘Griselda’ project on their own for commercial gain, without key details from the Blanco family,” he told the outlet.

“After the sit-down at the table, my lawyers formally sent a cease-and-desist letter to Netflix and Sofia’s camp. As of today, Netflix nor Sofia’s camp has made any attempt to reconcile.”

“Regardless of public information, basic respect is warranted,” he continued. “I am Griselda’s only living son that has life rights agreements signed by Griselda herself in which she intended I carry out her life story.”

“I am a businessman in the entertainment industry and comprehend the importance of motion pictures as I have a book to be released, based on the real story,” he added.

Blanco ran her drug operation out of Miami from the 1970s through the early 2000s. She was nicknamed the “Cocaine Queen” and “The Godmother” and was feared for her business tactics.

Blanco was arrested in 1985 and charged with conspiring to manufacture, import and distribute cocaine. After being sentenced to 15 years behind bars, she was released from prison in 2004.

She was assassinated in a drive-by motorcycle shooting in Medellin, Colombia, in 2012 when she was 69.

Elsewhere, Michael told Daily Mail that he didn’t like Vergara’s appearance when she transformed into his late mother.

“My mother was a beautiful woman and it’s crazy that a lot of people say ‘No, you’ve got to look more like a drug addict’ The fact that they call her ‘ugly’ that really offends me,” he told the outlet.

“People see the mug shots and just go from that. But when you read my book, you’ll see that my mother was called the porcelain doll in her youth.”

Vergara recently revealed that she spent at least three hours in hair and makeup to transform into Blanco.

Michael’s stern comments come after he sensationally sued Vergara and Netflix over the new series, TMZ reported.

Michael is vying to get a judge to grant an injunction preventing the release of the six-part series, premiering Jan. 25 on the streaming platform.

He and his siblings allege that the series ripped off his family’s story to incorporate it into the plot line of “Griselda” — and that their images and likenesses were used in the series without their permission, violating their rights.

The Post has reached out to Netflix and Vergara’s reps for comment.
