Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino was scared to have this person read his memoir

There was a situation with this memoir.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was afraid to have the producer of “Jersey Shore” read his book, which detailed his drug addiction, including smuggling pills onto the set of the reality series. 

“I was a little nervous for my boss to read the book,” admitted Sorrentino about SallyAnn Salsano, the founder of 495 Productions, which produced the MTV show.

“And she said she absolutely loved it. She showed up to my book signing in Los Angeles, sat front row for my speech. And I’m very grateful for her support.”

Sorrentino, 41, who stars in the show’s reboot, “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” which premiered its Season 7 on Thursday, explains in the tell-all that he went to great lengths to hide his habit from the series’ producers and cast.

Since the reality star was miked up during filming, he would have friends leave his drug of choice, the prescription painkiller Roxicet, on the floor of nightclub bathrooms or inside his tanning bed. And when they filmed in Italy, he concealed the opiates in his shoes.

One of his castmates, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola was shocked to learn about his life prior to becoming a household name, which included a stint as a drug dealer, regularly smuggling marijuana from Brooklyn to New Jersey.

“Sam said she read it. She’s like, ‘I cannot believe, how wild you were before ‘Jersey Shore,’” he told The Post.

Sorrentino, who is now eight years sober, said that fans he met during his book tour shared how his book helped them.

“There’s been mothers, sisters, brothers and people that have been affected by the disease of addiction that have shown up and said that my story has really touched them and has given them the motivation to move forward and get past their demons,” he said.

“There’s people that are in the industry of recovery that work at treatment centers, that are therapists, that say they want to give my book to their treatment centers or their clients.”

He’s in talks to bring his memoir, which was published in December, to the big screen.

“I did get a call about the movie, that a few people are interested,” he said. “So we’re going in the direction of movie and Situation documentary.”

The dad of two, who is expecting his third child with wife Lauren Pesce next month, said it’s “going to be hard to avoid” his offspring participating in a reality show one day.

“They’re going to see that their dad has been on reality TV for 15-plus years,” he said.

“Obviously I will sit them down and if that’s what they want to do, then I will explain the positives and negatives and be there every step of the way to guide. And if you see something, you see a red flag, I’m going to say something because I have a ton of real-world experience.”

Sorrentino gathers with his family at his Holmdel, N.J. home to watch new episodes of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” and always does his part to give the show recognition.

“I make sure to put on all my TVs. I put on my TV app,” he said. “I put on my two cable TVs, which are upstairs and downstairs, so that we get those Nielsen ratings.”
