SHEERAZ: I’LL TAKE ANY 160LBer
Although typically humble in victory, the thought of fighting a big fight like Eubank made his eyes light up.
“Let’s have it any 160lber put them in front of me and I’ll beat them,” Sheeraz said.
“I’m honoured to share the ring with Liam Williams, someone I watched growing up.
“The game plan with Ricky is round by round. To base everything off my jab, my jab is my power shot as you saw tonight.
“I had a lot of doubters going into this fight, it’s part of the sport – that’s how it is. I do my talking in the ring. When I get in here I entertain.”
WARREN: WE WANT EUBANK JR
When asked who he would like Sheeraz to fight now, Warren had one name in mind.
“Eubank – if he’s got the balls to do it, because he’d need big balls to get in the ring with him,” Warren said on TNT Sports.
“[Sheeraz] reminds me of Tommy Hearns, he’s probably got the best jab [around]. He doesnt feel you out with it, he takes your head off.
“He’s a thorough professional. I genuinely believe tonight a star is born.
“No one does that to Liam Williams. The way he handled it from the first jab it was a magnificent performance.
“I believe he will win a world title and he will hold that title as long as he likes.
“There couldnt be a better advertisement for boxing. He’s an absolute star. He represents modern Britain and he does it in a fantastic way.”
‘A FRIGHTENING PERFORMANCE’ – FRAMPTON
“I thought it would have been a long fight, I thought it would be gruelling at times, I expected Sheeraz to win but I didn’t expect that,” Frampton said. “That was a world class performance.
“That jab has put the frighteners on every middleweight on the planet.”
SHEERAZ STOPS WILLIAMS IN ROUND 1!
Williams is put down with a strong jab in the first minute of the fight. Straights shots had Williams wobbling then a beautiful right uppercut put him on the seat of his pants once more. Another left hook had Williams teetering back towards his corner and set for more punishment leading his trainer Gary Lockett to throw in the towel. Sheeraz improves his record to 19-0 (15 KOs).
SHEERAZ-WILLIAMS UP NEXT

“It’s a fight, me as a fan – it don’t get any better than that,” Frank Warren said on TNT Sports.
“On the night, the fight will be something else to watch.
“We’ll get it over the line. That’s our job and we’ll make it happen.
“I don’t think it will take too long. We’ll get it done…I think in the next few weeks.
“We’re going to make it as big as we can.”
YARDE AND BUATSI BOTH EYEING SUMMER SHOWDOWN
British champion Joshua Buatsi sat next to Anthony Yarde after the fight and while both were respectful to each other, both are very keen to meet shortly.
“I would be at home if I didn’t have interest,” Buatsi said. “I’m here because I think this should be next.
“I’m down for it, I’m sure his team feel the same way.”
Yarde responded, “This fight between me and JB is a 100 times bigger [than Dan Azeez].
“Me and him have both got mutual respect but we’re both fighters, we’ve both agree to get it cracking, we’ve said it behind the scenes.
“We met for the first time at a drake concert. We spoke, we always had in our mind we’d fight. We’d get it cracking.
“Now it’s about the timing of it. For me, I’m ready whenever. Its about making the deal. If me and Joshua Buatsi could fight for a world title that’d be perfect. If not that’s fine.”
Buatsi said: “My answer’s simple and short – I’m ready.”
