Los Angeles mom throws kids from car, kills self after stabbing boyfriend

A deranged mother allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death and threw her children out of a moving car — killing an infant — before smashing into a tree in a twisted murder-suicide that spanned several Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Police first learned of the mayhem when they found an 8-month-old and 9-year-old in the middle of the 405 Freeway around 4:30 a.m. Monday.

The baby was pronounced dead at the scene, but the older child had managed to survive the fall with “moderate injuries,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Just half an hour later, the kids’ mother Danielle Johnson was found dead in her crushed car several miles away in Redondo Beach.

The 34-year-old had driven her SUV at a “speed in excess of 100 miles per hour” when she collided with a tree. Whether the crash was intentional or not is not yet clear.

Nearly three hours later, investigators discovered the body of 29-year-old Jaelen Allen Chaney in the luxury Woodland Hills apartment — where a one-bedroom fetches up to $5,000 per month — he shared with Johnson and her children.

Neighbors called 911 after spotting a trail of blood down the hallway toward the couple’s open door.

“Their door was wide open, there was blood on the floor leading into their apartment, and then a trail of it in the hallway leading up to the elevator, and I saw some blood on the walls,” a 26-year-old neighbor told ABC 7.

At the direction of an EMT, the neighbor’s father went into the unit to check on Chaney, who was found dead and “facedown on the floor.”

“And there was a lot of blood,” the man said.

According to police, Johnson stabbed Chaney to death when the two became involved in a verbal argument around 3:40 a.m.

Johnson allegedly grabbed a knife and attacked Chaney before piling her two kids into a dark-colored Porsche SUV, which she plowed through the apartment complex security gate.

That’s when she peeled toward the highway, where “the minors fell or were thrown out of the moving vehicle,” according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 9-year-old child — the sole survivor of the horrifying attack — had witnessed her mother slay Johnson, sources told ABC 7.

Johnson killed herself more than 30 miles south of the site of Chaney’s murder.

The motive for the murder-suicide is not yet clear.

Investigators are also still working to determine if the baby had died before being thrown from the car.
