I’m 51 and gave birth to two babies during menopause

Parenting is rewarding — and draining — at any age, according to one middle-aged new mom.

A 51-year-old woman achieved her dream of becoming a mother, giving birth to her two kids while she was undergoing menopause.

The woman, who refers to herself as “Em” on social media, shared several videos on TikTok about her experiences as an older mom and why she’s still enjoying every second of motherhood.

“Miracles do happen,” Em wrote in one video wherein she gleefully held her 1-year-old daughter on her hip.

“She’s 1 and I’m 51. Giving birth during menopause is the best thing that ever happened to me!” she exclaimed.

Viewers cheered her openness as well as chimed in with their stories of being a parent later in life.

“I’m 52, I can’t imagine going through that again but I’m loving being a grandma for sure! Good luck, cute baby,” one commented.

“I’m 43 and I would love to remarry and have one more. This is just a sign for me that it’s absolutely possible. Happy for you!” said another.

One offered another perspective. “My mom had me at 50. I was one of the luckiest kids,” the grateful viewer added.

“Giving birth during menopause is the best thing that ever happened to me!” the mom said.

In another clip, Em shared some shots from her pregnancies and with her kids,

“Pregnant at age 48 and 49. I’m not crazy. Just extremely blessed! And tired! I’m really really tired! And done!” she said — then pleaded, “I need chat friends! Seriously. To keep me awake!”

In a separate TikTok, featuring her daughter playfully eating, Em explained how she welcomed her last baby at 50.

“I’m not missing a single second of the simple moments. Life with her is definitely going to be slow and I’m soaking it all in on purpose,” she wrote.
