Dua Lipa fans injured by exploding fireworks snuck into concert

Three fans received minor injuries after someone set off fireworks at Dua Lipa’s Toronto concert Wednesday night.

Toronto police told The Post that an unknown suspect in the floor section threw the fireworks at the end of Lipa’s Future Nostalgia Tour performance at the Scotiabank Arena.

The victims received small burn marks on their legs and shoes, Variety reported, adding that after being checked by medics, no further medical assistance was needed, police said.

Still, it was enough to scare and disperse the crowd, especially after the fatal attack at Ariana Grande’s Manchester, England, concert in 2017.

Videos posted to social media show that the “Hotter Than Hell” songstress was walking the runway, soaking in her final moments of applause nowhere close to the unexpected pyrotechnics.

She seemed visibly aware of the pops but continued dancing to “Don’t Start Now,” looking to her background dancers in apparent confusion.

“Look at her face,” a TikTok user captioned the now-viral video.

Possession of an unauthorized pyrotechnic device, smoke or fireworks is a clear violation of the arena’s code of conduct, so it is unclear how the perpetrator snuck them in.

However, according to fans on social media, the Scotiabank security team was very lax upon entry to the venue, according to Variety, with some fans stating they didn’t even check their bags.

In a statement to The Post, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment — which owns or operates several area venues including Scotiabank Arena — acknowledged the incident as well as an investigation into it.

“Last night, at the end of a concert event at Scotiabank Arena, unauthorized and illegal fireworks were set off on the arena floor by a member of the audience. As a result, three attendees received minor aid on-site and were able to go home without a need for further medical attention,” the company said. “As one of the premier venues in North America, creating a safe and secure venue for every attendee at Scotiabank Arena is MLSE’s top priority and we immediately began working in cooperation with Toronto Police Services to fully investigate this reckless and dangerous act. As always, we thank Toronto Police Services, the on-site medical team, employees and concert attendees for their swift support in responding to this incident.”

The Post has reached out to representatives for Lipa for comment.

The arena did not post about the incident on social media but instead shared pictures to Twitter of the “Future Nostalgia”-themed personalized spoons, cooler and ice cream they gifted the “Physical” star.

Police said they are involved in an active investigation and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact them.
