Janet Jackson sells longtime NYC home for $8.8M

Pop icon Janet Jackson has sold her chic Manhattan apartment — and definitely not for a song.

The legendary singer, 56, parted ways with her roughly 2,100-square-foot — and nearly 25-year residence — Central Park West crib for $8.8 million, the Wall Street Journal first reported. That’s just slightly less than the $8.99 million she sought when it hit the market in April.

The “Together Again” star had owned the condo since 1998 when she purchased it for $2.8 million — or $5.13 million in today’s inflation-adjusted figures — via a legal entity named the Puffy Trust, the Journal noted. The new owner is a limited liability company named Nanyang Real Estate Holding.

Located at 1 Central Park West, the spread has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a half bathroom. What’s more, it enjoys views of Central Park — a dining counter in the kitchen alone looks out to the full green expanse — as well as the nearby super-tall towers along Billionaires’ Row.

An entry gallery leads to an open living and dining area. A library has a wall of custom millwork, while the unit also has floor-to-ceiling windows and 10-foot-high ceilings. The unit is inside the condominium attached to the Trump International Hotel, right at Columbus Circle and at the southwest entrance to Central Park.

Jackson, whom Bobby Brown had a crush on and is “Project Runway”-winning fashion designer Christian Siriano’s muse, hadn’t lived there since 2019. In a statement, Jackson told the Journal, “I always treasured my home’s wonderful location and the breathtaking views that capture the magic and excitement of New York,” adding, “Stepping through its threshold instantly made me feel so tranquil and at peace — so many memories.”

Allison Koffman and Juliette Janssens, of Sotheby’s International Realty, repped the listing.
