US Open: Andy Murray battles past Emilio Nava to progress to the third round for the first time since 2016

Andy Murray is through to the third round of the US Open after beating Emilio Nava 5-7 6-3 6-1 6-0.

It is the first time the 35-year-old has reached the third round of the Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows since his run to the quarter-finals in 2016.

Nava began brightly and snatched the first set after one hour and 24 minutes, but Murray showed great resilience to battle back. After a gruelling second set, he comfortably took the next two to seal his spot in the next round.
