JoJo Siwa credits these gorgeous stars for her ‘gay awakening’

JoJo Siwa is giving credit where credit’s due.

The 19-year-old “Dance Moms” alum posted a now-viral TikTok Tuesday in which she talks over an instrumental of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” about the moments she knew she was gay.

“Enjoy,” she simply captioned it.

“One thing about me is when I was 12, Demi Lovato came out with a song, ‘Cool for the Summer.’ I really, really liked it and I listened to it all the time,” Siwa started.

“I didn’t know what it meant back then, but now that I’m much older I understand and I know what it means,” she said of Lovato’s 2015 hit which alludes to romantically experimenting with women.

“Don’t tell your mother/ Kiss one another / Die for each other/ We’re cool for the summer,” Lovato sings.

Last year, Siwa told Lovato face-to-face that her song — and onstage kiss with backup dancer JoJo Gomez — made her feel some kind of way during an episode of the former Disney star’s “4D with Demi Lovato” podcast.

“Then a few years later, Jenna Dewan went on ‘Lip Sync Battle.’ She did a really great ‘Magic Mike’ number. I watched it every day,” Siwa continued about the actress and dancer, who was then married to Channing Tatum.

Dewan donned her former hubby’s “Magic Mike” inspired white tank and backward ballcap for her 2016 viral “Lip Sync Battle” performance to Ginuwine’s always-sexy “Pony.”

“Little me, she didn’t know she was gay until, a couple years later, a man was my first date and he wanted to have sex with me and I did not want to, never wanted to, grossed out by the thought of it, immediately knew men are not my thing,” Siwa recalled.

“Women are my gig, gotta go,” she ended the video, walking out of frame.

The “So You Think You Can Dance” judge came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in January 2021 by posting a pic of herself to Instagram wearing a T-shirt that read, “BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER.”

Shortly after, she introduced the world to her girlfriend, Kylie Prew. They spilt for the first time in November 2021 but briefly reconnected this year before ultimately calling it quits.

Siwa is now dating fellow social media influencer, Avery Cyrus. The pair made their relationship red carpet official last month for the opening night of Alanis Morissette’s jukebox musical, “Jagged Little Pill.”
