Kamala Harris books Seth Meyers for first network interview as VP

WASHINGTON – Vice President Kamala Harris’ anywhere-but-the-border tour rolls on.

Harris will appear on Monday’s episode of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the show announced Thursday.

The appearance will be the veep’s second on late-night television since she took office in January 2021 – and her first on a network program.

Harris in December joined Charlamagne Tha God on his Comedy Central show, “Tha God’s Honest Truth.” During that appearance, she bristled at a question asking whether the “real president of this country is … Joe Biden, or Joe Manchin.”

“C’mon, Charlamagne. No, no, no, no, it’s Joe Biden,” she said. “And don’t start talking like a Republican, about asking whether or not he’s president. … It’s Joe Biden and I’m vice president and my name is Kamala Harris.”

The veep later blamed the outburst on “frustration” in an interview on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” days later.

Harris last joined Meyers’ show in July 2020 for a remote appearance while she was on the campaign trail as Joe Biden’s running mate.

Harris will stop by “Late Night” two days headlining a Texas Democratic Party fundraiser in Austin. Though President Biden has tasked her with handling the migration crisis in Texas, sources told the Post on Tuesday that she had no plans to visit the border during her trip.

It’s unclear whether the vice president — who has been criticized for remaining silent about the border surge even after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott sent busloads of migrants to her DC home — will discuss the issue with Meyers on Monday.
