Cara Delevingne to promote new ‘Planet Sex’ doc in Cannes
Cara Delevingne’s latest endeavor is a docuseries called “Planet Sex.”
The model, 30, is producing the series, which focuses on human sexuality, for BBC and Hulu, and will promote the project at Mipcom, an annual entertainment trade show, in Cannes, France, next week. The doc will see Delevingne visit communities who view gender and sexuality in a variety of ways, and she’ll also share some of her own experiences.
This is in line with Delevingne’s public persona since she wore a “peg the patriarchy,” shirt to the 2021 Met Gala, and she has said she identifies as pansexual.
“Growing up as a queer child was isolating and hard to navigate at times,” she told the Sunday Times. “My sisters did their best to be there for me but it was something I had to go through myself to truly know who I was. I soon realized that I couldn’t be the same — all of us have different paths.”
Delevingne has been an LGBTQ+ icon for several years and has had high-profile relationships, including with actress Ashley Benson.
But recently, she has displayed erratic behavior, failing to show up at the launch of the Cara Loves Karl collection at New York Fashion Week on Sept. 13, and she was also spotted wandering around in dirty socks after boarding Jay-Z’s private jet and then abruptly disembarking. Her pals, including Margot Robbie, have been spotted leaving her home looking distressed.
An insider told Page Six that they suspect she could have substance abuse issues and that there are plans for an intervention.
The “Planet Sex,” official logline reads, “On this immersive journey, she puts her mind and body on the line in search of answers regarding human sexuality, its joys, mysteries, and constantly changing nature. In every episode, she shares her own personal experiences. Uniquely unfiltered and authentic, there’s no limit on how far Cara’s willing to go to explore what makes us all human.”
The docuseries will have six parts, and a release date has not been announced.
