Australian radio host Erin Molan collapses with fear on air

An Australian radio show descended into chaos during a segment about arachnophobia on Wednesday, when one of the hosts had a panic attack and passed out while touching a tarantula.

In the viral clip, presenter Erin Molan, 40, can be seen breathing very fast and letting out several nervous moans as the moment of the spider’s release approaches.

“We’re about to have spiders put on us,” said Molan shakily.

The handler — who was present at the show — also allegedly told Molan and a listener who was present and taking part in the segment on spider fear to “stay calm” and “breathe.”

While the listener managed to hold the spider briefly, Molan let out a horrified scream.

“We can stop if you want to stop,” the handler told Molan.

“The most important thing is that you feel safe and that you feel comfortable.”

Molan’s co-host, Hughesy, also echoed the handler’s sentiment. But Molan was determined to complete the task and face her fear.

The radio star actually managed to get the spider on her before she fainted.

“We need to go to a break, go to a break, absolutely. We need to go to a break,” said a frantic Hughesy, before a producer can be heard telling “everyone to get out of the studio.”

The Post reached out to the show for comment.

The radio show posted a follow-up photo featuring the group calling both women brave for confronting their fears.

Several supporters of the show expressed their love for the host.

“Erin, you did absolutely amazing! We cannot wait to come back with some cuter animals for you to cuddle and enjoy,” the spider handler said.

“It’s a very scary challenge, no need to feel awful about it, so many of us have fear in all situations,” said one Instagram commenter.

“The main outcome is that you are ok Erin. Take care, rest up for the rest of the day.”

“Erin you are so brave! I hope you’re feeling better,” encouraged another user.

“You are one step closer to conquering your fear and that’s a massive accomplishment!”
