Adam Levine denies affair with model: I ‘crossed a line’
Adam Levine has denied cheating on his pregnant wife Behati Prinsloo — but admits he “crossed a line” by sending “flirtatious” messages to another woman.
The Maroon 5 frontman, 43, broke his silence on Tuesday — one day after Instagram model Sumner Stroh, 23, alleged that she had an affair with the married father-of-two.
Stroh — who claims she and Levine saw each other “for about a year” — shared screenshots of private messages the star allegedly sent to her. “It truly unreal how f–king hot you are,” the “Moves Like Jagger” crooner purportedly wrote during one steamy exchange.
“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,” Levine wrote in a statement on Instagram on Tuesday. “I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”
He vowed to work through the difficult period with Prinsloo, 34 — to whom he has been married since 2014.
“My wife and my family is all I care about in this world,” he continued. “To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”
Levine and Prinsloo have two daughters together — Dusty, 5, and Gio, 4. The couple is expecting their third child later this year.
According to Stroh, whose TikTok video has clocked up more than 15 million views, she and Levine reportedly stopped speaking earlier this year.
However, she claims he sent her an Instagram message out of the blue in June, allegedly saying he wanted to name his third child after her, much to her shock.
“Ok serious question,” Levine allegedly wrote in a message on June 1. “I’m having another baby and if it’s w [sic] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious.”
Stroh — who hails from Texas, but now lives in Los Angeles — claims she only went public with her story after she was sold out by a friend, who allegedly went to an unidentified tabloid with screenshots of the frisky messages from Levine.
When contacted by Page Six, Stroh claimed the alleged affair, which happened “last year,” was “physical, yes, but I’m not saying anything further.”
In her TikTok video on Monday, the brunette stated: “At the time, you know, I was young, I was naive. I mean quite frankly, I feel exploited. I wasn’t in the scene like I am now, so I was definitely very easily manipulated.”
However, the model was widely criticized on TikTok, with many claiming she was a grown woman who seemingly expressed no remorse over allegedly sleeping with a married man.
She later took to Instagram Stories to discuss the blowback she received on her claims.
“Aware people are going to try to fill in the gaps with many false assumptions. I don’t feel like I’m doing any favors considering the manner this had to go about,” Stroh stated. “It’s a lot to digest but hopefully, at the very least, the truth being out can do some good.”
The brunette also posted a “part 2” video late Monday night, which she deemed “necessary” since she feels “disgusted” with herself.
“I’m disgusted and so ashamed of the pain and hurt I’ve caused,” she declared. “I didn’t want to sound whiney so that wasn’t said in this video.”
