Adam Sandler’s daughter prepped for ‘Bat Mitzvah’ movie role with her own party

Adam Sandler’s daughter had her own bat mitzvah just before filming their new Netflix film, “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.”
Director Sammi Cohen told People recently how the Sandler clan got together to celebrate his now 14-year-old daughter Sunny’s big day.
“What’s really funny is right before we started prepping for the film, Sunny had her actual bat mitzvah,” Cohen revealed.
“So I went to that service, and we got to do the real-life bat mitzvah and then left to make the movie. It was a really fun life movie moment.”
Cohen continued that the bash “felt equally as fun as the parties you see [in the film].”
“It was really, really fun. And it was, again, it was just such a perfect moment of life meets movie. It was just magical,” the “Crush” director went on.
Entertainment Tonight reported last year that Sunny’s own bat mitzvah was filled with celebs including Jennifer Aniston, David Spade and Taylor Lautner.
The teen comedy was released on the streamer last Friday and also stars Idina Menzel, as well as the “Happy Gilmore” star’s 17-year-old daughter, Sadie, and his wife Jackie, 48.
The flick — which currently has a 96% “Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes — is based on the 2005 young adult novel by Fiona Rosenbloom.
The official synopsis reads: “Lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry.”
Sandler, 56, portrays Stacy’s dad, Danny, in the funny film.
Cohen dished to Decider on Aug. 25 how the “Jack and Jill” actor was “almost inhuman” multitasking on set.
Sandler was both director and dad while shooting. “No one thing suffers,” Cohen said. “He’s really able to wear all these hats.”
“He does everything. It’s almost inhuman. I’m like, it’s unfair, he can do everything!” Cohen explained. “The sweet Jewish goofy dad we all want!”
