Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are considering a reality TV show with 7 kids
Alec and Hilaria plus 7.
Alec Baldwin revealed Wednesday that he and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 39, have been workshopping a potential reality series starring the duo and their several children.
“When I think about you and Hilaria and your seven young kids — now I know what you’re going to say but just go with me — this has reality TV written all over it,” Kelly Ripa, who hosts Sirius XM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” said on this week’s episode.
Shockingly, Baldwin, 65, told Ripa that the duo “have thought a lot” about it.
According to the three-time Emmy Award winner, the main reason he wants to do a reality show would be to “stay home and work from home.”
“I’m desperate to try to work from New York,” the actor said.
Ripa, 53, said that she “would so watch” the hypothetical series just for “a relatability factor.”
Laughing, Baldwin said that the children “have taken over every aspect of [their] lives.”
“With me everything’s about my family,” the “30 Rock” alum said. “I have really tried in the last several years, once we had five and then six, and then seven kids.”
“I can’t go anywhere for any length of time,” the actor added.
According to the “Beetlejuice” star, one of the main obstacles to getting the idea of a Baldwin reality show out there is the fact that he can’t pick up and move around as easily anymore.
“You know, in the old days I’d jump on a plane and go to LA and do a movie here or a few episodes of ‘Will and Grace’ I did for a while. You know, different things like that,” Baldwin said with a laugh, adding that now he needs “12 plane tickets.”
“You know, nannies, kids, my wife, I need like 11,” the “Pearl Harbor” star said. “They don’t even have 11 seats in the business class section of the plane.”
“There’s not a budget big enough,” Ripa snickered.
Baldwin then told Ripa that whenever he and his family do travel, they are forced to stay in the same hotel since it’s the only one that can house everyone in four suites together.
“I look at my wife and I go, ‘You realize we’re not gonna make a dime, we’re not gonna make 1 cent,’ ” Baldwin said, recalling a work trip to California a few years ago. “Here we are mashed potatoes, $20 room service, a diet Coke is $11.”
“I said, ‘You realize we’re not gonna make a penny. The private plane, the hotel, the room service — we’re gonna break even on this job I’m doing.’ ”
According to “The Departed” star, Hilaria would give him a “what do you want me to do” look.
“So jobs I take, jobs I don’t take,” continued the Hollywood star, adding that an unnamed “famous” TV producer tried to hire him for a series in Vancouver, Canada.
“I’m not going to Vancouver for five months. That’s not happening,” said Baldwin, who shares an eighth child, Ireland, 28, with his first wife, Kim Basinger.
Last month, it was revealed that the actor may be facing more charges in connection to the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
According to two sources, Baldwin’s additional charges are likely to be brought before a grand jury in November.
“It is unfortunate that a terrible tragedy has been turned into this misguided prosecution. We will answer any charges in court,” Baldwin’s attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro told The Post.
The initial charges brought against the actor were dismissed in April by special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis.
