Ali Wong kisses Bill Hader, thanks ex in Golden Globes 2024 speech
Twice as nice!
Ali Wong raised some eyebrows during the 2024 Golden Globes after she thanked her ex-husband Justin Hakuta onstage — moments after kissing current beau Bill Hader.
The moment came when Wong, 41, stood up to accept her award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for “Beef.”
In a clip posted to X ( formerly Twitter) the comedian was spotted smooching the “Saturday Night Live” alum after her name was announced.
During her acceptance speech, Wong thanked Hakuta, whom separated from in April 2022.
Wong called the tech entrepreneur her “best friend” and thanked him for taking care of their daughters Nikki, 6, and Mari, 8.
“I really need to thank the father of my children and my best friend Justin for all of your love and support,” the actress gushed during her speech. “It’s because of you that I’m able to be a working mother.”
Following the heartfelt shoutout, Wong sat down with “Entertainment Tonight” to discuss the sincere message.
“Yeah that’s right, I like to keep it peaceful and grateful and amicable,” Wong told the outlet.
The exes met at a friend’s wedding in 2010, and married in San Francisco on Nov. 27, 2014. Last month, Wong officially filed for divorce more than a year after announcing their split.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Wong asked for their prenup to be enforced and they’re currently in mediation to divide up their assets and decide on child and spousal support.
They’ve retained joint legal and physical custody over their children, and she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup.
In March 2023, Wong told the Hollywood Reporter that she and Hakuta are still “really, really close.”
“We’ve been through so much together. It’s a very unconventional divorce,” she said at the time.
Wong and Hader, 45, meanwhile, initially had a brief two-month romance after the “Barry” alum split from actress Anna Kendrick.
“They’re no longer dating,” a source close to the couple told Page Six. “They dated very briefly. They’re just super busy with things, but [the split] was certainly amicable. They’re certainly friends.”
In April 2023, however, Hader inadvertently revealed that he and Wong had resumed their romance during an interview with Collider.
“My girlfriend and I were just figuring out that I haven’t had a vacation in 10 years,” Hader told the outlet. “I went with her to San Francisco, but that doesn’t really count. So, I’m going to have a vacation.”
