Alicia Keys’ voice crack seemingly edited out of Super Bowl 2024 halftime show
This girl is under fire.
Fans on social media suspect Alicia Keys’ vocals were pitch-corrected in Usher’s full Super Bowl Halftime show posted to the NFL’s YouTube channel.
Keys, 43, made a steamy cameo Sunday during the “Yeah!” singer’s set, starting at the piano with her 2003 hit “If I Ain’t Got You, but her voice cracked on one of the first notes out of her mouth.
However, it appears to be right on pitch in the YouTube version.
A viral tweet shows the alleged difference between what viewers heard on TV versus what will live on the internet forever.
“Alicia done lost her f–king keys, wtf was that??” one user wrote of the original version.
Another person quote tweeted the video, adding in the YouTube version, writing, “Oh the NFL edited out that off-key moment on YouTube…”
The Post has contacted reps for the NFL, Apple, Usher, and Keys for comment.
X users slammed the NFL for seemingly fixing the missed note, with one writing, “They’re tryin to rewrite history right before our eyes like fr.”
“She still sounds a mess,” another declared.
A third said, “Her voice sounds kinda tired tbh but she still ate it with her performance.”
“Y’all better save this video to your phones now bc I promise they will start issuing takedowns on all the original clips of this soon,” someone else worried.
“They couldn’t edit Janet Jackson’s t—y, but they could do THIS!?!?!?” another referenced Jackson’s controversial nip slip during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.
Keys and Usher also heated up with stage with a sexy rendition of “My Boo” which ended with the headliner wrapping his arms around the “Girl on Fire” singer’s waist.
Many viewers wondered how Keys’ longtime husband, record producer Swizz Beatz, felt about the PDA.
“Y’all talking about the wrong damn thing,” Beatz answered them Monday on Instagram.
“Yall don’t see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium,” the rapper continued. “Tonight’s performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants! Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic,” he signed off.
