Andy Murray was beaten by Dan Evans as England secured the Battle of the Brits title with an 8-4 win over Scotland.
Evans put England 5-1 ahead and one away from the title after overcoming Murray 6-4 3-6 10-8 in Aberdeen.

Earlier on Thursday, England’s Paul Jubb and Neal Skupski got the better of Jamie Murray and Jonny O’Mara 6-4 5-7 10-6 before Jubb emerged victorious over Aidan McHugh 6-2 6-2.
Murray exacted some revenge on Evans in the doubles when he and brother Jamie beat the British number two and Kupski 6-3 6-4 in the final match of the tournament.

“I certainly hope it’s not the case, but we need to treat these moments like we might not get the opportunity again because we’re getting on a bit, and you never know what’s around the corner,” Andy Murray told the BBC.
“It was amazing the whole two days, I’m very proud of Jamie for the event he put on.
“It meant a lot to both of us the way all of the players showed up, competed well and went after it.”
