Andy Murray wins epic point at Australian Open against Thanasi Kokkinakis – ‘It makes no sense at all!’
At two sets and 2-0 down, Murray had three break point opportunities at 0-40 to break back. However, he squandered them all as Kokkinakis got back to deuce.
He gave himself a fourth chance when he had advantage but was almost immediately on the back foot.

Murray ran across the court several times to somehow get the ball back, including dealing with three smashes from Kokkinakis.
With the third one, he lobbed his opponent with a hanging ball that just stayed in, before getting control of the rally.
Kokkinakis hit a forehand into the net which gave Murray the break, as the Australian threw his racquet to the floor.
Rightly so, Murray celebrated the point by holding his hand to his ear and pumped his fist in jubilation.
“It’s ridiculous,” said Eurosport commentator Simon Reed.
“No wonder he’s milking the applause. His whole career encapsulated in that point. He should not have won that rally. It makes no sense at all.”
Jo Durie was lost for words and could only say: “I can’t believe it!”
