Anne Heche laid to rest on Mother’s Day
Anne Heche was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony on a special day, Mother’s Day.
A representative for Heche told TMZ that the late actress, who was cremated, was given her final resting place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery – Cathedral Mausoleum on Sunday.
“She loved everyone so passionately and deeply and her children, her legacy, thank everyone for their support and love through this difficult time and are grateful to be able to honor their mother, [Sunday] on Mother’s Day,” the rep told the outlet.
Heche’s crypt is in “a spot with a beautiful view of the lake located within the cemetery’s Garden of Legends,” located next to Mickey Rooney and across from Chris Cornell and Johnny Ramone, TMZ reported.
Heche died at 53 years old in August 2022 following a fiery car crash that left her in a coma for a week.
“We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” her rep said in a statement after her death.
“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
It was revealed Heche would be laid to rest with some of the other biggest names in showbiz — including Judy Garland, Mel Blanc, Marion Davies and Cecil B. DeMille — shortly after she passed.
Her death was ruled an accident, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed she died due to inhalation of smoke and thermal injuries.
Heche was driving her Mini Cooper when she crashed into a Los Angeles home, leaving a devastating scene behind and starting a huge fire that took nearly 60 firefighters more than an hour to tackle.
The actress, best known for the NBC drama “The Brave,” never regained consciousness after suffering horrific burns in the crash.
She was kept on life support to preserve her organs for donation, according to her spokesperson, however, her representative explained at the time that Heche was “brain dead” — making her legally dead under California law.
