‘Are we selling LFC? No’ – Liverpool not for sale but investment possible, says owner John Henry
Liverpool owner John Henry says he will not sell the Premier League club, but new investors could be welcomed in.
The Fenway Sports Group (FSG), owned by Henry, has been in control of the Anfield side since 2010.

FSG responded to those reports by saying they “would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club”.
“I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about LFC (Liverpool Football Club), but I keep to the facts: we merely formalised an ongoing process,” said Henry.
“Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? No. Are talking with investors about LFC? Yes.
“Will something happen there? I believe so, but it won’t be a sale. Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?”
Liverpool have enjoyed a period of great success during FSG’s 13-year tenure, winning the Champions League, Premier League, World Club Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups.
The group also owns Major League Baseball team Boston Red Sox and NHL ice hockey team Pittsburgh Penguins.
Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League standings and face Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16 first leg on Tuesday, a repeat of last season’s final.
