Arin Hankerd arrested for seducing second teen student: cops

A Florida gym teacher arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old pupil in February has been nabbed by police again over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with another teenager from a different school he worked at.

The initial arrest of Arin Hankerd,43, prompted more girls to come forward accusing him of inappropriate behavior.

He has now been charged with luring a 17-year-old to his home in Ormond Beach, where he is said to have groped and had the girl perform oral sex on him.

The former educator is said to have sent the teenager flirtatious Facebook messages — such as asking what color underwear she was wearing — and requesting explicit photographs, according to charging documents obtained by the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

The girl was a student at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, where Hankerd taught physical education before moving to Atlantic High School in 2021.

Hankerd was able to continue his twisted schemes and found a new and younger teen student to exploit, prosecutors said, leading to his arrest over the relationship with the 15-year-old.

Hankerd was caught after his alleged victim’s mother rifled through the girl’s journal, which detailed the predatory relationship.

Prosecutors say Hankerd first began buying the student lunch in December, but escalated the relationship just a month later after he began sending her inappropriate pictures via Instagram.

The gym teacher had reportedly been warned numerous times over the years about his creepy behavior.

At least 30 women have come forward with information in the last three months, including four who claimed they were victimized.

Hankerd was immediately suspended in the wake of his February arrest.

Following Hankerd’s second arrest, a judge ruled that the former teacher should be held in jail without bond until his trial after agreeing with the state attorney’s office that he is a danger to the community.
