Arsenal make £50m-rated Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic priority in January transfer window – Paper Round

Arsenal back in for Vlahovic

Arsenal are reportedly “set to make another move” for Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.

The Gunners have been linked with Brentford striker Ivan Toney but are said to be prioritising former Fiorentina talisman Vlahovic.

A report in The Sun suggests: “Arsenal were linked to Vlahovic in the summer, and last January, having missed out on the chance to sign him when he opted to join Juventus almost two years ago.

“But it appears Mikel Arteta and Edu are set to make another move for the 23-year-old, according to TuttoJuve.

“Vlahovic has been out of sorts since joining Juventus, although he does have four goals in 10 appearances this season.

“That means the Serie A giants could be open to selling – if the price is right.

“Juventus are understood to want around £50 million for Vlahovic, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.”

Man Utd have ‘seal of approval’ to sign Neves

Bruno Fernandes has given the “seal of approval” for Manchester United to sign his compatriot Joao Neves from Benfica.

That’s according to a report in the Mail, which claims the 19-year-old “wonderkid” has been watched on “several occasions” by the Old Trafford club.

Neves has helped to fill the void of the departed Enzo Fernandez, who moved to Chelsea last summer. He has made 11 first team appearances this season and scored an equaliser in a derby against Sporting Lisbon.

The report reads: “Bruno Fernandes has given his seal of approval to Manchester United’s pursuit of a 19-year-old wonderkid.

“The Reds have been linked with the midfielder ahead of the January transfer window as Erik ten Hag looks to infuse his squad with exciting young talent.

“Scouts have watched the teenager on several occasions as they weigh up whether to make a bid.

“United captain Fernandes has waxed lyrical about Portugal and Benfica starlet Joao Neves in what may well be viewed at Old Trafford as a green light to get a deal done.”

Fernandes told Sport TV while on international duty: “It has to be the Man United coach who says whether he has a place or not.

“He is a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not. It depends on the coach and his ideas.

“But he’s excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional. You will have a bright future wherever you go.

“I would really like to have him by my side because he has quality and will have a bright future. It depends on him. What I want most is the best for him.’”

Valencia’s Gasiorowski target for Arsenal

Arsenal could turn their attention towards teenage defender Yarek Gasiorowski from Valencia.

The Mail links Mikel Arteta’s side to the 18-year-old, who has made four appearances for Valencia so far this season.

The outlet writes: “Mikel Arteta is keen to bring in another centre-back following injuries suffered by Jurrien Timber and Ben White, and the highly-rated 18-year-old appears to fit the bill.

“The north London club were rumoured to be interested in Gasiorowski’s services several seasons ago, only for Brexit regulations to scupper a deal.

“Instead, the defender has established himself at Valencia, with his first start coming in the Copa Del Rey at the start of November against UD Logrones.

“He has been restricted to substitute appearances in the league so far, but that has not stopped him catching the eye of the Premier League giants.

“Gasiorowski has two years left on his current contract with the La Liga club, and a £17.5 million release clause could tempt potential suitors to make a move for him in the near future.

“Their defence could be set to be improved further by the addition of Gasiorowski in the upcoming January transfer window.”

Solanke on West Ham’s radar

West Ham will attempt to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in January, according to The Sun.

Solanke has scored six goals in 12 Premier League goals this campaign in a struggling Cherries side, while West Ham are searching for a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who left for Atalanta in the summer.

The report states: “The Irons made a £40 million approach for Solanke in August but were knocked back. It would take a much bigger bid for the Cherries to even consider letting their star forward leave.

“The player – capped once by England – still has more than three years to run on his current deal at the Vitality Stadium.

“Hammers chiefs would love to bring him to East London but if they cannot persuade Bournemouth to sell, they will look at other targets.

“Paris Saint-Germain misfit Hugo Ekitike, 21, and 27-year-old former Chelsea striker Timo Werner are among the names on Moyes’ wish list.”
