Atlanta-bound Delta flight experiences ‘severe turbulence’ that leaves 11 aboard injured
Eleven people on a Delta flight were injured when the plane experienced “severe turbulence” before landing in Atlanta Tuesday night.
The injured included passengers and crew members aboard Delta Flight 175 from Milan, the airline told WANF in a statement.
They were taken to the hospital upon landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and none of their injuries were considered life-threatening, a spokesperson told the outlet.
The plane, which was carrying 151 passengers and 14 crew members, arrived in Atlanta as severe weather was hitting the area, the report said.
“Our priority is taking care of our customers and crew who sustained injuries,” Delta said in a statement.
“We are grateful for the first responders who met the aircraft to provide medical attention and who are transporting the injured to [the] hospital.”
