There are potential financial restrictions for Barcelona, though.

“Barcelona reportedly want to use their relationship with Jorge Mendes to sign Matheus Nunes, but expect a deal to be out of reach due to their financial constraints,” the paper claims.

“Nunes is among several players targeted by Barcelona to strengthen Xavi’s midfield next season.

“Nunes is a client of Mendes’ Gestifute agency, with the agent boasting a strong relationship with both Barcelona and Wolves.

“The La Liga leaders reportedly believe Mendes potential involvement could aid any pursuit of Nunes, who has been targeted by both Liverpool and Newcastle.

“Barcelona, however, expect a deal could be beyond their means due to the club’s ongoing financial crisis.”

Arsenal striker Balogun targeted by Leipzig

With Christopher Nkunku set for his move to Chelsea in the summer, the German side RB Leipizg need to replace their forward.

One person in mind is Folarin Balogun, who is in startlingly good form for Ligue 1 side Reims, on loan from Arsenal this season.

“FOLARIN BALOGUN is reportedly attracting interest from RB Leipzig as they search for a replacement for Chelsea-bound Christopher Nkunku,” The Sun claims.

“Arsenal starlet Balogun, 21, has had a fantastic season on loan at Reims, with 18 goals in 29 Ligue 1 games so far this season.

“RB Leipzig are one of the sides set to slug it out for Balogun’s services, with Nkunku set to depart for Chelsea this summer.

“Balogun has two years remaining on his Arsenal deal but will return to the Emirates at the end of the season with his future up in the air.”

Weghorst in demand

While Wout Weghorst is unlikely to be kept at Manchester United beyond the summer – certainly as a regular starter – he could still move on from Burnley at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Dutchman is still wanted by Besiktas, who had him on loan before Erik ten Hag brought him in as a short-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Mirror explains: “Besiktas are ready to take Wout Weghorst back if Manchester United decline to make his loan move to Old Trafford permanent in the summer.

“Weghorst spent the first half of the season on loan at the Turkish side before surprisingly signing for United in the January window. The striker has been a useful option for Erik ten Hag, though is still yet to score a goal in the Premier League.

“Burnley are hoping to be able to sell their £12million flop, with Weghorst having scored just twice in 20 appearances for the Clarets. Instead though it appears that a loan return to Besiktas is most likely.”

Zidane to be offered huge Saudi deal

Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr are looking to add Zinedine ZIdane to their setup as the long-term replacement for former manager Rudi Garcia.

An offer of 120m euros could be enough to convince the Frenchman that he should move to the Middle East and quit life in Europe, with Spanish newspaper Marca not entirely convinced.

They write: “It is difficult to verify the information coming out of Saudi Arabia, especially when it comes to financial offers. The latest one that is going around the country is the proposal that Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, have made to Zinedine Zidane in a bid to hire him as coach.

“The Saudi media are talking about 120 million euros for two seasons, or 60m per year.

“So far, the French coach’s entourage has not responded to this offer that would cause a storm.

“The question is whether Zidane would agree to move to such a low level of football, considering that he will always have offers from Europe, and that he loves living in Madrid.

“After the sacking of Rudi Garcia, Al Nassr appointed Dinko Jelicic as interim coach, but the Saudi Arabian club’s intention is to reunite Ronaldo and Zidane.”
