Bayern Munich continue Harry Kane pursuit, Tottenham Hotspur deny any official offer has been received – Paper Round
Bayern keen on Kane
Bayern Munich have launched a second bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after their opening bid of £60m plus add-ons was rejected by the north London club. The German champions are keen to add Kane to their squad this summer and manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly a big fan of the 29-year-old. It is unknown whether Tottenham have responded to the second bid.

“Kane has held positive talks with Bayern over a move to the Bundesliga champions and they remain keen to sign the 29-year-old England captain.
“Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman, is expected to stand firm in his desire to get £100m as a minimum for Kane but Bayern hope their improved offer, allied to the player’s desire to join them, will lead to a softening in stance by one of English football’s most notorious negotiators.”
Spurs don’t want to play ball
The Sun believe that Spurs have denied ever receiving an official offer for Harry Kane this summer. It is being widely reported that Bayern Munich have submitted two bids for the England captain, who has one year remaining on his current contract in north London. However, the Sun write that Tottenham have not even received an offer for Kane.
“Bayern are in the market for a new centre-forward and boss Thomas Tuchel has made Kane his No. 1 target.
“Chairman Daniel Levy is still hopeful the striker can be convinced to sign fresh terms.”
Bayer demand £50m for Diaby
Bayer Leverkusen have slapped a £50-million asking price on Moussa Diaby as Aston Villa join the race to secure the Frenchman’s signature this summer. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United have all been credited with interest in the 24-year-old, but the Bundesliga club will not sell him for a cheap fee.
“Leverkusen would want a fee in excess of £50m for Diaby which would represent a club record for Villa were they to firm up their interest.
“He has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United.”
Real Madrid plan for post-Ancelotti life
Real Madrid are compiling a shortlist of managers who could take the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu if Carlo Ancelotti’s expected exit to take the Brazil job comes to fruition next summer. Los Blancos have identified a quartets of former players, Zinedine Zidane, Xabi Alonso, Raul Gonzalez and Alvaro Arbeloa, in their bid to replace Ancelotti. Zidane is the favoured option, but Alonso is a close second.
“And if he is not the man to take over in 2024, then Xabi Alonso, Raul Gonzalez and Alvaro Arbeloa are the other heirs to Carlo’s throne.
“Madrid have briefed that they could still offer Ancelotti a new contract during next season to keep him from taking over Brazil in 2024. But, in truth they have already turned the page and are ready for the new chapter – one with a very familiar look to it. “
