Bayern Munich to make one last attempt to prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham – Paper Round
Bayern to make final attempt at signing Kane
The Telegraph believes that Bayern Munich will make one more effort to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham after their last bid worth £86 million was rejected.
“The German club were due to hold a new round of talks with Tottenham, but time is running out. Kane has set a deadline of the end of this week for an agreement with Spurs and is leaning towards staying for the final year of his contract, with the German club facing a race against time to swing the saga back in their favour.
“There is still no indication that Kane will extend his Spurs contract past the end of the new season, but the England captain will sign a lucrative new boot deal after switching from Nike.”
Juventus talks for Lukaku continue
Chelsea and Juventus continue talks over a potential exchange of Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku, but the Serie A side want cash as well as the 30-year-old forward.
“The Blues are intent on signing a new No. 9 after securing the signings of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal and RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku this summer. Nkunku is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he requires surgery for a knee injury sustained in pre-season.
“Vlahovic has emerged as a prime candidate for the Blues, who are hopeful that they can secure the Serbian striker in the same deal that will see Lukaku exit Stamford Bridge. The Blues have been trying to offload the Belgian striker from their books for multiple transfer windows.”
Bundesliga sides battle for Tavares
“Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares has emerged as a transfer target for Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen,” relays the paper.
“Tavares, 23, spent last season on loan with French side Marseille after being deemed surplus to requirements within Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad.
“Despite a successful spell in Ligue 1, where he made 31 appearances and scored six goals, Tavares will not be expected to break into the Gunners team upon his return.
“And, with that in mind, a number of Bundesliga sides have reportedly identified the former Benfica full-back as a potential option.”
PSG given notice by Neymar
Spanish newspaper Marca reports on speculation from France that Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar also wants to leave the club this summer.
“The Brazilian, formerly of Barcelona, has reportedly announced to the PSG board of directors this Sunday,
“Xavi, who played alongside Neymar during his playing days, believes that the arrival of Neymar could alter the good atmosphere that reigns in the Barcelona dressing room. The salary balance does not seem easy either.
“The Brazilian has four years left on his contract with PSG at 30 million euros gross per season.”
