Beyoncé gives Lizzo a shout-out after shading singer: ‘I love you!’
Queen Bey is “Crazy in Love” with Lizzo.
Beyoncé showed Lizzo some love in Georgia on Monday during her Renaissance tour when the “Single Ladies” singer shouted out that she loved the embattled rapper.
In a clip posted to X (formerly Twitter), Knowles-Carter, 41, made the shout-out during a remix of her hit song “Break My Soul.”
The song, which stands as a tribute to black women in the entertainment industry, calls out icons such as Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill and Nicki Minaj and the “About Damn Time” singer.
“Lizzo. I love you, Lizzo,” shouted Knowles-Carter to a seemingly mixed reaction from the assembled fans.
The person filming the clip can then be heard reacting to the surprise shout-out with a high-pitched “ok.”
Several X users were not fond of the former Destiny’s Child member calling out the rapper.
“Beyoncé what are you doing,” slammed one user.
“Someone should stop her omg … we need her miles away from this case and Lizzo till it’s over,” fretted a second person.
“Somebody should tell her,” joked a third person.
Other users defended Knowles-Carter.
“She wouldn’t say this if she ain’t know all the details, she definitely knows something we don’t,” reasoned one fan.
“Beyoncé is not an unfair person,” a second X user lashed out. “I’m sure what Beyoncé has personally witnessed, Lizzo has come across as a very kind person. Without automatically assuming Lizzo to be guilty like so many people have over allegations, Beyoncé wants to hear both sides.”
“Standing by her friend until proven otherwise,” cheered a third person.
The Post reached out to Beyoncé for comment.
The very public declaration of love comes weeks after the “Formation” singer seemingly shaded the Detroit native in a performance by replacing her name with Erykah Badu.
Three dancers who worked with Lizzo accused her of weight-shaming them and allegedly forced them to participate in a sex show while in Amsterdam.
Plaintiffs Arianna Davis and Crystal Williams also claim the songstress fired them. Noelle Rodriguez, the third person in the case, said she reportedly had to resign.
All three dancers allege that in February 2023, the Grammy Award winner invited her team for a night out in Europe that went south.
“Things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas,” claims the lawsuit.
Davis claimed that the singer “pressured” and “goaded” her into touching a performer’s breast.
Lizzo later responded to the accusations calling them “false” and “unbelievable.”
“These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized,” Lizzo began her statement on X. “Usually I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.
“These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”
Since the “Good As Hell” songstress’ apology, six new dancers who worked on her Amazon Prime show, “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls,” have come forward claiming that Lizzo created a “sexually charged environment” while others are simply accusing the singer of not paying them.
Employment law attorney Ron Zambrano told NBC that they are currently reviewing all the claims.
“Some of the claims we are reviewing may be actionable, but it is too soon to say,” Zambrano told the outlet.
According to the attorney, several of his clients allege that the singer told them that it was “normal” for dancers to be “fired when they get fat.”
