Biden calls GOP govs ‘un-American’ after migrants sent to Harris home, Vineyard

President Biden has accused Republican governors of being “un-American” and “playing politics with human beings” by relocating border-crossers to Democrat-run sanctuary hotspots.

Speaking to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Gala late Thursday, Biden insisted that his administration was “committed to fixing the immigration system.”

But “instead of working with us on solutions, Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props,” the president said, hours after dozens of migrants arrived in Martha’s Vineyard and others were dropped off outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Washington, DC.

“What they’re doing is simply wrong. It’s un-American, it’s reckless,” Biden raged of the governors’ dramatic protest of his immigration policies.

Despite the new arrivals insisting America’s southern land border is completely open, Biden maintained that his administration has an effective “process in place to manage migrants at the border.”

“We’re working to make sure it’s safe and orderly and humane. Republican officials should not interfere with that process by waging these political stunts,” Biden insisted.

He also said that it was “long overdue for Senate Republicans to come to the table and provide a pathway for citizenship for Dreamers, those in temporary status, farmworkers and essential workers.

“We need to modernize our laws so businesses get workers they need, and families don’t have to wait decades to be brought back together. It’s time to get it done,” he said.

Since April, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has bused about 7,900 migrants to Washington — with the latest group arriving outside Harris’ home Thursday morning — and sent around 11,000 to New York and another 300 to Chicago.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has also bused more than 1,800 migrants to the nation’s capital since May.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took the strategy to a new level this week by flying migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, the idyllic vacation spot favored by left-leaning celebrities and Democratic pols like former President Barack Obama.

DeSantis said the flights were part of an effort to “transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” with $12 million earmarked to transport “unauthorized aliens” out of state.

Before her boss spoke Thursday night, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the governors’ actions a “cruel, premeditated political stunt.”

“We’re talking about children, we’re talking about families who were promised a home, promised a job, put on a bus and driven to a place that they do not know,” she said, complaining that federal officials were not given advanced warning of the relocations.
