Biden’s false Hunter laptop letter interfered in election beyond ‘anything China or Russia’ could do: Sen. Ron Johnson

President Biden’s dirty campaign trick that falsely claimed The Post’s blockbuster Hunter Biden laptop story involved Russian disinformation amounts to far worse election interference than any foreign effort, a top GOP pol said Sunday.

“Actually, they knew the Hunter Biden laptop was real. The FBI knew that. They had possession of it in December 2019,” said Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), former head of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, to the “Cats Roundtable” show.

But the Biden campaign still persuaded 51 former intelligence officials to sign onto a letter just weeks before the November 2020 presidential election to discredit — with no evidence — the Post story as Russian propaganda, Johnson said.

Then-acting CIA Director Mike Morell has since admitted in sworn testimony to the House Judiciary Committee that he organized the infamous letter after discussions with members of the Biden campaign, including current Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, then a top adviser.

“They wrote a letter to interfere in our election to a far greater extent than anything China or Russia ever could hope to do — claiming that the laptop had all the earmarks of … a Russian information campaign,” Johnson fumed to John Catsimatidis on the WABC 77 AM radio show.

“That letter was an information campaign. It had far greater impact on our election than anything any foreign adversary could ever undertake. … This isn’t suspect anymore,” Johnson raged. “This is fact!

“Now we know it’s Mike Morell doing the work of Anthony Blinken, who is on the Biden campaign.

“And then, of course [Biden] used that lie in his debate against Donald Trump a few days later. It’s sick!,” Johnson said.

Biden cited the spooks’ letter at the second and final presidential debate against then-President Donald Trump, alleging falsely that the information disclosed by The Post — and later broadly corroborated — was the result of a “Russian plant.

“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said at the time. “Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except [Trump’s] good friend Rudy Giuliani.”

Johnson said Biden and his team will hopefully finally be held accountable for the dirty trick, which led to The Post story being censored by Twitter and Facebook.

The Post’s 2020 report on Hunter Biden was censored by Twitter and Facebook.

“The truth is slowly starting to be pried out,” the GOPer said. “Bit by bit. Piece by piece. It’s the truth that we’ve all known about.’

“We maybe don’t have the specifics, but now we know [the origins] of the letter from the 51 intelligence officials who covered up the Hunter Biden laptop,” he said.

The Biden administration, including Blinken, has declined to comment on the scandal.
