Biden’s ICE officials met with left-wing group that wants to ‘abolish’ fed agency

Top Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials met with a left-wing activist group that regularly marches against the agency and proudly protests it wants to “abolish” it.

ICE held the meeting with the National Immigration Project as part of the agency’s “efforts to engage with stakeholders from across the immigration policy spectrum,” according to a post on the agency’s website.

The National Immigration Project has repeatedly advocated against ICE and its mission of immigration enforcement, calling for the defunding of the agency and an end to the detention of illegal immigrants.

“I don’t know why they do half of the things they do anymore. So much pandering to those who hate us and want us to disappear,” an ICE source told The Post in reaction to the meeting.

John Fabbricatore, a former ICE field office director for the agency in Denver, told The Post the meeting is part of an ongoing trend under the Biden administration where agency officials have been engaging with groups that are actively working to stop immigration enforcement.

“ICE HQ continues to hold conversations with groups advocating against ICE and for open borders, like the National Immigration Project, while ignoring the more enforcement-oriented organizations and policies,” Fabbricatore, who is now running for Congress to represent Colorado’s sixth congressional district, said.

“The Biden administration regularly signals its belief in amnesty and an easier and more open immigration process, which could potentially compromise national security and place excessive pressure on our public services.

“It is imperative that a more enforcement-driven approach to immigration be fully reinstated to protect our national security and uphold the integrity of our nation’s borders,” he added.

ICE said the meeting is part of its efforts to engage with “stakeholders nationwide.”

A spokesperson for the National Immigration Project told The Post they’re “puzzled” why ICE announced their meeting.

When asked about its contents, they claimed it wasn’t “noteworthy” and was merely an “ordinary course stakeholder engagement organizations regularly have with government agencies to discuss any number of advocacy issues and priorities.”

ICE didn’t respond to The Post’s request for comment.
